Karthika Masam · 10 Nov – 9 Dec 2026
Panchatatva Deeparadhana
For all 30 days of holy Karthika Masam, Vedic priests light the sacred Panchatatva Deepam — five pure ghee lamps representing Light, Fire, Water, Earth, and Space — before Lord Shiva at a sacred temple near Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh, with daily Sankalpam chanted in you and your family members' names & gotram.
What you are offering
Karthika Masam is the month when a lamp offered to Lord Shiva is believed to carry the fruit of many ordinary days. In this seva, that offering is made for you — not once, but every day of a 30-day sankalpam.
Each evening, five lamps are lit together before the Shiva Lingam. Each lamp stands for one tattva. Together they are the Panchatatva Deepam: Light, Fire, Water, Earth, and Space. The priest chants your name and gotram before the lamps are lit.
The Five Tattvas
Light
JyotiThe lamp of awareness. It asks Shiva to clear confusion and keep the family in clarity.
Fire
AgniThe lamp of transformation. It burns accumulated heaviness and invites fresh strength.
Water
JalaThe lamp of cooling grace. It soothes anger, illness, and restless thoughts.
Earth
PrithviThe lamp of steadiness. It seeks health, livelihood, and a peaceful home.
Space
AkashaThe lamp of vastness. It opens the heart toward Shiva and quietens the mind.
One seva. Five lamps. Thirty evenings.
You do not buy the oil or travel to the temple. The temple lights the Panchatatva Deepam on your behalf, and the day's photograph is placed on your booking page.
