Sri Imayavarappa Perumal Temple (popularly known as Thrichittatt Maha Vishnu Temple) in Thirucchenkundroor, near Chengannur in Alappuzha district, Kerala, is the 86th Divya Desam. It was glorified in 10 pasurams by Nammazhwar in his Thiruvaimozhi.
This temple is the first and foremost among the five Pancha Pandava Sthalams of Kerala, founded by the eldest Pandava brother, King Yudhishthira (Dharmaputra). Deeply conscience-stricken for having uttered the misleading half-truth "Ashwatthama hatha, kunjaraha" (Ashwatthama is dead, the elephant) to defeat his military preceptor Dronacharya during the Kurukshetra war, Yudhishthira came to the banks of the Pamba river, observed rigorous penance, and installed this idol of Lord Vishnu as Imayavarappan (the Lord of the Celestials/Devas).
The Moolavar stands facing West, radiating profound spiritual peace and forgiveness. Sincere prayers at Thrichittatt are believed to absolve the soul of the sin of untruthfulness, betrayal of trust, and moral guilt, restoring absolute clarity of conscience and righteous conduct.
