About Thirumoozhikkulam Sri Lakshmana Perumal Temple , (Kochi, Kerala)

Sri Moozhikkalathaan Perumal Temple in Thirumoozhikkulam, located near Cochin International Airport in Ernakulam district, Kerala, is the 92nd Divya Desam. Celebrated in 14 pasurams by Nammazhwar and Thirumangai Alvar, it is one of the four immortal shrines of the revered Nalambalam Yatra (the circuit of Rama, Bharata, Lakshmana, and Shatrughna temples visited during the Malayalam month of Karkidakam).

The name Thirumoozhikkulam is derived from Thiru-Mozhi-Kalam, commemorating the sacred moment when Lord Vishnu spoke the ultimate divine word of salvation (Moozhi) directly to Sage Haritha, instructing him on the practical path of attaining Moksha in the Kali Yuga. The sthala puranam also records that when Bharata arrived in the forest to persuade Rama to return to Ayodhya, Lakshmana initially suspected Bharata's intentions. Later realizing Bharata's unparalleled nobility, Lakshmana felt deep remorse. The two brothers met and embraced in tears at this holy spot, purifying their hearts before Lord Vishnu.

Devotees praying to Lakshmana at Thirumoozhikkulam seek resolution of fraternal disputes, reconciliation between brothers, and relief from respiratory and heart ailments.
