Sri Narayana Perumal Temple at Thiru Manimaada Kovil in Thirunangur, Mayiladuthurai district, Tamil Nadu, is the 25th Divya Desam. Praised by Thirumangai Alvar in 12 pasurams, it is considered the sovereign focal temple of the entire eleven-temple Thirunangur complex.
The temple is celebrated as the Southern equivalent of Badrinath (Dakshina Badrikashramam). The presiding deity, Lord Narayana, is seated in majestic Iruntha Kolam in the likeness of Badri Narayana, with an eternal ghee lamp burning continuously before the sanctum. Thirumangai Alvar sings of the Lord here as "Nanda Vilakke" (the unextinguishable lamp) and "Mani Maada Kovil Meviya Maindhan".
This temple is the grand stage for the famous annual Thirunangur 11 Garuda Seva festival during the Tamil month of Thai (Amavasya night). In this breathtaking spectacle, all eleven Thirunangur Divya Desam deities arrive in individual palanquins at Manimaada Kovil, where Thirumangai Alvar circumambulates and sings mangalasasanam to all eleven Perumals mounted on Garuda throughout the night.
