According to Hindu calendar, Bhuvaneshwari Jayanti is celebrated on the day of Bhadrapada Shukla Dwadashi. Goddess Bhuvaneshwari is the fourth Mahavidya among the ten Mahavidya. Goddess Bhuvaneshwari is described as the Shakti of Bhuvaneshwar Rudra. Goddess Bhuvaneshwari bestows various types of achievements including fearlessness to Her devotees. Goddess Bhuvaneshwari fought with Durgamasura and by defeating him, the severe crisis that befell the deities was resolved. Due to killing of Durgamasura, Goddess Bhuvaneshwari became famous by the name of Goddess Durga.
