About Sri Thirukkaar vaanar Temple , Thirukkaar Vaanam (inside Ulagalantha Temple)
Sri Thirukkaar Vaanar Temple in Thiru Kaarvaanam is the 52nd Divya Desam. Glorified by Thirumangai Alvar, it is nestled within the ancient complex of the Sri Ulagalantha Perumal Temple in Kanchipuram, Tamil Nadu.
The name Kaarvaanam is derived from Kaar (dark, rain-bearing cloud) and Vaanam (sky), venerating the Lord as the cosmic cloud (Kaarvannan) that gathers in the heavens and unselfishly showers life-giving rain upon all creation without discriminating between righteous and unrighteous beings. In this sanctum, Goddess Parvati (Gauri) performed penance to obtain the golden complexion (Gauri Varna) by meditating upon the cool, dark sapphire hue of Lord Vishnu.
The Moolavar stands facing North in an imposing posture, blessing farmers, agrarian families, and all living entities with timely rainfall, abundant agricultural harvests, and the quenching of spiritual thirst.
