π About Ahobilam Narasimha Swamy Temple
Ahobilam Narasimha Swamy Temple, located in the Nallamala Hills of Kurnool district, is considered the most sacred of all Narasimha temples and is believed to be the actual spot where Lord Narasimha manifested to kill the demon Hiranyakashipu and save his devotee Prahlada. The temple complex consists of nine different temples, each representing a different form of Lord Narasimha (Nava Narasimha). The upper Ahobilam (Ugra Stambham) is where the actual manifestation occurred, while the lower Ahobilam houses the main temple. The forested location in the Nallamala Hills adds to the spiritual atmosphere, and the temple is considered one of the 108 Divya Desams. The temple has been mentioned in ancient scriptures and has a history spanning over 1000 years.
