Palani Murugan Temple, located on Palani Hills in Tamil Nadu, is one of the six main abodes (Arupadai Veedu) of Lord Murugan and one of the most visited temples in South India. The temple is dedicated to Lord Dandayudhapani, a form of Murugan holding a divine staff. According to legend, this is where Murugan came after losing the divine fruit contest to his brother Ganesha, declaring "I myself am the fruit of wisdom."
