About Sri Nidanampati Sri Lakshmi Ammavari Temple
According to local folklore, around 1500 AD, a divine girl named Yaganti Sri Lakshmi was born to a couple named Yaganti Ramayya and Sugunamma. At a young age, she showed a profound devotion to Gowmatha (the sacred cow) and miraculously conceived a baby cow through her divine grace. Misunderstanding the divine event, her brothers grew angry and tragically immolated her by lighting a fire.Miraculously, she emerged spiritually as a protective deity, and the baby cow survived the fire unharmed. Recognizing her divinity, the local villagers started worshipping her at the exact site of her demise. In accordance with her spiritual message, the original sacred site focused on a natural rock (Sila) and a Neem tree in an open space rather than a lavish standard idol temple.
Miraculously, she emerged spiritually as a protective deity, and the baby cow survived the fire unharmed. Recognizing her divinity, the local villagers started worshipping her at the exact site of her demise.
