Omkareshwar Temple is located on Mandhata island in the Narmada River in Madhya Pradesh. The temple complex includes both Omkareshwar and Mamleshwar temples, located on opposite sides of the river. According to Hindu scriptures, this is where Lord Shiva resided after being pleased by the penance of the Vindhya Mountains.
