Brahma Gnana Pureeswarar Temple (Avittam Star) ✓

This is the dedicated star temple for the Avittam nakshatra (Sanskrit Dhanishta), ruled by Mars (Chevvai). People born under Avittam traditionally worship here as their parihara (remedy) sthalam.

The presiding deity is Lord Brahma Gnana Pureeswarar (Shiva). Lord Shiva is worshipped here as Brahma Gnana Pureeswarar, the bestower of knowledge (gnana), with Goddess Pushpavalli, the Avittam star deities. The Goddess worshipped here is Pushpavalli.
